Land Agent
An opportunity has arisen for experienced and suitably qualified Land Agents to join our Land Administration team at the Jamalco, Manchester location.
Reporting to the Lands Administrator, the successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Executing and managing all land acquisition activities aimed at making available bauxite reserves according to the prevailing mines plans.
- Acquiring complimentary privately owned land for the reclamation of mined out areas, consistent with Jamalco’s Land Acquisition and Resettlement protocols.
- Executing the Land Acquisition programme through the acquisition of privately owned land to facilitate the construction of haul road, yards, and the relocation of parish roads.
- Supporting the execution of the company’s resettlement programme, including the purchase of land for the establishment of sub-divisions to resettle vendors in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Maintaining a cordial relationship with residents of the communities in which the Company works or plans to work to facilitate continuity of the bauxite mining operations and to promote community development.
- Using the Jamalco Business System to effectively manage the department’s activities, integrating Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) in daily work, controlling costs and promoting teamwork through active participation in Area and Quality Improvement Lead Teams.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered you must have:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree or its equivalent in Business Administration; Real Estate Management; Land Economy and Valuation.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in land management, property assessment and evaluation and sub-division development.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A high level of leadership, organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work on own initiative; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
